1. Al Thumama stadium

Located in Doha, this stadium will host a total of 7 matches, including 5 group matches, 1 round of 16, and 1 quarter-final. The first match of the 2022 cup, between Senegal and the Netherlands, will be played in this stadium. It was opened in 2021 with a capacity of 40,000 audiences.

2. Lusail iconic stadium

Among the 8 venues, Lusail stadium is the largest one, with a capacity of 80,000 seats. This stadium
will host a total of 9 matches, including 5 group matches, 1 round of 16, 1 quarter-final, 1 semi-final, and the Grand Final of the 22nd cup. This stadium is located in Lusail city itself and was opened in 2022.

3. Al Bayt Stadium

This stadium has a capacity of 60,000 seats and is located in Al Khor, Qatar. A total of 8 matches
will be played in this stadium, including 5 group matches, 1 round of 16, 1 quarter-final, and 1 semi-final. It was opened in the year 2021.

4. Al Janoub Stadium

Al Janoub Stadium is located in Al Wakrah and has a capacity of 40,000 seats. It will host 6 matches, including 5 group matches and 1 round of 16. This stadium was opened in 2019, making it the second oldest stadium among the 8.

5. Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium

Opened in the year 2020 in Al Rayyan, Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium has a capacity of 40,000. 6 matches, including 5 group matches and 1 round of 16, will be hosted in this stadium.

6. Khalifa International Stadium

Not only among the 8 host stadiums but in the entire country, Khalifa International Stadium is the
oldest. This stadium was built in Doha in 1976 and reopened in 2017 after a series of works renovations. 7 matches will be held in this stadium, including 5 group matches, 1 round of 16, and a match for the position of 2nd runner-up.

7. Education City Stadium

This stadium is also located in the capital city of Qatar, Doha. It was opened in 2020 with a capacity of 40,000. All total, 7 matches that include 5 group matches, 1 round of 16, and 1 quarter final will be
held it in this stadium.

8. Stadium 974

Stadium 974 was opened in Doha in the year 2021 with a capacity of 40,000. 5 group matches and 1 Round 16 will be played in this stadium, making it the host of 6 matches.

The official theme song of the 22nd world cup is ‘Hayya Hayya (Better together).’ It was released 4 months ago in April and has already crossed 16 million views on YouTube. The song features Nigerian singer and songwriter Davido, American singer Trinidad Cardona and singer AISHA. Furthermore, the popular South Korean Boys’ Band BTS will soon work on a music collaboration project for The goal of the Century.
